Show Your Pet Some Love on Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and it is the perfect opportunity to let your romantic gestures shine. Valentine’s Day for some is a day to celebrate the love between two people and for others, Valentine’s Day is to honor a love unlike any other: the love for your beloved pet. Buy something special for your furry friend or give them some extra love to thank them for their unconditional love and cuddles.

Spending Valentine’s Day with your pet can create a forever lasting memory between you and your best friend and it provides the opportunity to spoil your furry friend with what they love most. Here are some things we know your pet will simply adore.

Make a sweet treat

Holidays are the best time of the year because you are able to dig into your favorite desserts. It is no different for your pets! Bake up some homemade, pet-friendly treats. Remember, your pet is way more fun to bake for, they will never give you any feedback, and they will take what they get and absolutely love it!

Shop for new toys

Nothing makes your pet happier than when they have a new toy to thrash around and squeak. Having different toy options for them to play with will keep them happy and entertained and will be sure to get those tails waggin’.

Nothing like an ear rub

Have you ever scratched behind your pets’ ears and realized they drift into a trance? A dog’s ears are full of nerve endings that send impulses throughout their entire body, which makes them feel extremely loved. When you show your never-ending love for your pet through ear rubs, you can be sure they are getting the message.

Make playtime a priority

Do you ever feel awful after leaving your pet home alone all day? Take some time out of your day and play with your pet, whether it’s a game of fetch, playing tug-of-war or even bringing them on a long walk around the neighborhood. With them being locked up in the house all day, there is nothing they will appreciate more!

Snuggle time

We are all to blame for being so caught up with things that you may forget to relax on the couch with your pet. You might get so busy with work, kids, chores, or house projects, that the last thing on your mind is letting your furry friend climb up on your lap. Even if it is just a couple of minutes, make sure to curl up on the couch and even give them a kiss or two, so they know how much you love them. You can even let them sleep with you on your bed at night.

Although it is hard to believe, dogs are able to read your body gestures and these tips will help you tell your furry friend how much you love them. Give these a try and you will be sure to feel a stronger connection with your pet!
